October 2025 - Equine Therapy Update

Our amazing pupils in the Leavers Department have been having a wonderful time taking part in Equine Therapy sessions the past few weeks.

From grooming the donkeys, feeding the goats and sheep, to cleaning out the donkey's beds, the smiles and confidence on the pupil's faces say it all. These sessions offer so much more than just fun—they help build trust, communication, and emotional wellbeing in a calm and nurturing environment.

A huge thank you to Anne at Primrose Cottage Farm, for creating such a positive and enriching experience for our young people.

October 2025 -SRC Update

Our budding photographers in the Leavers Department have been busy mastering the art of capturing the perfect shot! They have been learning how to handle a camera with confidence, learning how to assemble their cameras, experiment with different angles, and explore the magic of portrait and landscape modes. With every click, their eye for detail and style grows sharper — and by the looks of their latest shots, they’re almost ready for a feature in Vogue!

Each of the pupils have embraced their new learning journey at Southern Regional College with great enthusiasm, managing themselves in a new environment, transitioning with growing confidence and enjoying all the new social opportunities that are embedded within our weekly sessions.

We can't wait to see how their photography skills progress in the coming weeks ahead.

January 2025

Happy New Year to everyone!!!! January has been a busy month settling back into school, finishing our PLP targets, getting back to routine, starting a new course in SRC and more importantly getting ready for Young Enterprise competition!! Next month we will have a group making and selling products at Rushmere Shopping Centre, so we have been busy making sure we are ready! Watch this space to see how we get on at the start of February!

A very Merry Christmas to you all from The Leavers Department!!
We have had a jam packed December with our Young Enterprise competition in St George's Market, Santa run, Christmas coffee morning and carol singing performance for parents, recording Christmas videos, Christmas Pantomime in school, singing in Tesco and our Christmas Disco in the Belmont Hotel. We have earned our break and are excited for our projects in the New Year!

Wow! We have had a fantastic month getting in the Christmas spirit! We attended the Young Enterprise Christmas market in St George's Market, created other items to sell at the PTA Christmas Fayre, we attended Spelga Mews for some wreath making and we even put on a Christmas performance while we were at it! We are truly ready for a well earned rest.
